Why We Built This Site
Maryland gives the public several ways to inspect court and agency records, but Kent County records are not held by one office or one portal. The Clerk of the Circuit Court handles Circuit Court files, marriage licenses, land and license services, and certified copies. The District Court of Maryland for Kent County handles traffic, landlord-tenant, replevin, misdemeanor, and smaller civil matters. Probate uses the Register of Wills and Orphans' Court, while sheriff and detention records use the Vickers Drive agencies. The goal is to make those official channels easier to sort before a visitor calls, mails a request, or travels to Chestertown.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Maryland court, Kent County office, sheriff's office, detention facility, clerk's office, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document, marriage record, probate filing, or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific Kent County case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, or access rule listed on this site is current at the moment you use it
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. The document has to come from that office.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
